MetGIS at the DGI Summit LAC × CEDS2026 in Santiago de Chile

We are pleased to announce: MetGIS at the DGI Summit LAC × CEDS2026 in Santiago de Chile! Our CEO Gerald Spreitzhofer will speak there as an invited speaker.

The summit runs from October 27 to 29 as part of the CEDS2026 conference. It is organised by the #TeamEurope Digital and Green Innovation (DGI) Action and co-funded by the EU, Germany and France. The goal is to advance digital and climate innovation across the Atlantic. You can find more information about the event here.

Gerald joins the panel “Bridging Markets: Partnerships and Learnings on Earth Observation Innovation”, moderated by Valentina Cullmann. His talk includes a short introduction to MetGIS. He will also share experiences in building R&D partnerships and business relations between European and Latin American companies.

📍 OpenBeauchef, Universidad de Chile, Santiago de Chile

🗓️ October 29, 2026, 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

The session explores what Europe and Latin America can offer each other in Earth observation, from space agencies and business support organisations to companies. Brazil, Argentina and Chile have been building up their capacities in this field for years. The EU supports this development through initiatives such as the Copernicus centres of the EU–LAC Digital Alliance. After each short input, participants discuss in small groups what makes cross-regional cooperation work from their own perspective.

For us, the continent is familiar ground. All MetGIS products, from weather forecasts to historical climate data, cover the whole of South America. We also already work with many partners in the region. We are therefore looking forward to representing MetGIS at the DGI Summit LAC and making new connections.
