Development partner

The exceptionally high quality of MetGIS forecasts is based on the fact that both the forecasting technology and the graphical presentation of the forecasts were developed within the framework of multi-year, interdisciplinary and international research projects, with the simultaneous involvement of practical users, before the company was actually founded.

Specialist knowledge from research institutes, universities and meteorological services in various countries (see the enclosed map) could be used, covering the areas of meteorology, geographical information systems, software development and snow research.

Many thanks to our most important development partners:

  • IMGW (Institute of Meteorology and Geophysics, University of Vienna), Vienna, Austria
  • SLF (Swiss Federal Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research ), Davos, Switzerland
  • NIED/NISIS (National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Prevention), Nagaoka, Japan
  • SENAMHI (Servicio Nacional de Meteorologia e Hidrologia), Lima, Peru
  • IANIGLA (Instituto Argentino de Nivologia y Glaciologia), Mendoza, Argentina
  • DGF (Departamento de Geofisica, Universidad de Chile), Santiago de Chile, Chile”
